In 2013, Blockchain Capital started the first venture capital fund dedicated to crypto builders—now with over $2 billion in assets under management. In 2022, Blockchain approached SIREN to help bring their visual identity into the very future that they are helping to build.
Our approach was to elevate the Blockchain brand and align their visual language with the dynamism and innovation of the crypto community. First, we did an audit of their current brand assets and took stock of their existing equity, deciding to keep the “starfish” icon from their existing mark.
By redrawing the icon and introducing a visual “chain of blocks” to the arms of the starfish, we were able to retain the overall recognizability of the symbol, while imbuing it with deeper meaning and visual metaphor. The new logo evokes the experience and deep network of their community and captures the momentum of Blockchain’s approach to investing in the crypto category.
Through color, typography and pattern, the greater visual system can be flexed to fit any number of touchpoints; dialing-up to feel bold and punchy in out-of-home advertising and social media, while quieting-down to prioritize data and information on the newly designed website.
